Ebay All The Way!

My friend Elaine is an inspiration to me, upholstering, re-designing, redecorating, she does it all. She has also introduced me to the joys of Ebay and the art of giving up your old stuff so you can get something new, simple I know, but I had never thought of it before! So far, so good. I am slowly repaying my mum for the damage done in Paris (what an amazing amazing trip- just me, mum, good food and even better shopping!) and building up the savings account I just opened to try and dig myself out the albeit fashionable hole i've dug myself into. Getting my card declined today when I tried to buy bananas and juice was a low point but i'm optimistic...summer wardrobe here I come! To keep myself in line i'm devising a summer must have list, anything not on a list is a MUST-NOT-BUY. Watch this space. For now though, i'm away to sell my nike high-tops, I don't know when I thought I was edgy enough for those...

New Year, New Look

Serious neglect of my blog! I have been in a sliiiiiiggght stress about my excessive spending and lack of paying bills (I did actually think the gas bill was due on the 24th of Feb - I was wrong) but thats no excuse! Since my last blog I have had several fashion enlightenments 1) Spanish woman are amazingly well dressed 2) Old movies are the best inspiration 3) If you want a good summer bikini you need to start shopping NOW! Taking the first one, I went to my holiday house in Spain for New Year, it was lovely and warm and good not to hide under a million layers of clothing. I always look forward to going for so many reasons, one of which is to see what my gorgeous & lovely neighbour is wearing. She is the queen of chic, works a white shirt and jeans combo impecibly, and carries the knowledge that all Spanish women are blessed with, the ability to accessorize. They know a good belt, scarf and the art of simplistic but stunning jewellery better than anyone. In summer her look is changed up with gorgeous sundresses and not a hair out of place. If only you could bottle that talent! Numero dos, for my christmas my aunt (my fashionista cousin, let's call her Wee C's mum) who is the absolute queen of fantastic presents got me (amongst bobby brown, eyeliner, amazing tights and slippers!) High Society on DVD. I am in love. Grace Kelly was already one of my idols but her greek goddess poolside dress is my summer inspiration. So too are the S/S 11 D&G and Louis Vuitton adverts. Summer thoughts : Old School Glamour, Crisp White Dresses, 70's accessories- scarfs, hooped earrings, big sunnies, deep tan, and Lots & Lots of Stripes. Which brings me on to number 3. The need to summer shop in march. There are two main issues with this, I am pale and yet to tone my Xmas hangover bod, and my bank balance has yet to recover from its Xmas hangover. My saviour is H&M- now thankfully online, cheap and deliverable, looking at the bikini pics inspire me to get jogging, now for the funds...
